By NE Reporter on May 29, 2018

    CHENNAI:
Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Ltd is the first standalone health insurance company in the country known for its innovative products.
This time, it has reintroduced its Star Cardiac Care Insurance policy with lowered premium rates. Customers can now avail the cardiac policy according to their age at rates that are lower by 28% – 40%. In 2013, Star Health had first launched the Star Cardiac Care Insurance policy that covers individuals diagnosed with cardiac disease and have undergone treatment including bypass surgery.
The policy covers hospitalization for Cardiac ailments, Accidents and other (Non-Cardiac) ailments as well. It also covers Outpatient medical expenses, personal cover for Accidental death. In addition to this the revised policy also covers all types of Day care procedures as compared to a limited 405 procedures in the previous version.
Dr. S Prakash, COO, Star Health and Allied Insurance, said, “The Star Cardiac Care policy has been very successful in the market. Since its launch, we have noticed an increased demand for the policy over the last five years. Star Cardiac Care has witnessed an increase of nearly 27.5% in the sales in the FY 2017-18 compared to the previous year.
At Star Health, we have always aimed at developing products that cater to customers’ need and keep improvising them periodically based on market requirement.” Star Health has good number of qualified medical doctors to process health claims and also contribute in designing and developing innovative products.
“Doctors are the ones who treat the patients and understand the procedures and intricate aspects of various ailments. This is why we involve these experts while designing a product to help and give the best coverage for our customers in time and to bring advancement in Health Care.” added Dr. S Prakash, COO, Star Health and Allied Insurance.
In India, Heart diseases happen not only to elderly but to middle aged and younger age also. But unfortunately these people do not have access to Insurance cover as they are granted as Cardiac Patients. tar Health has come forward to break the myth and created a cover for these patients with Heart disease at lesser cost.
