    Kochi: Kerala High Court has said that Sree Narayana Guru was a social reformer and not an avatar of God and the Gurumandiram housing his statue cannot be treated as a temple.

    A bench comprising Justices V Chitambaresh and K Harilal made this observation while hearing a property dispute related to a ‘Gurumandiram’ at Ambalappuzha in Alappuzha.

    Kochi: Kerala High Court has observed that keeping athlete Anu Raghavan out of the relay team for Rio Olympics was an injustice to her.

    Anu Raghavan was replaced by Ashwini Akkunji, an athlete whose merits counted less than those of Anu. She had clocked better time than Ashwini in the previous four meets. The court which went into the merits of both the athletes asked the Olympics Association to include Anu in the team.

    Kochi: A young government pleader of Kerala High Court was arrested by Police in Kochi for molesting a woman on the public road.

    The accused, Dhanesh Mathew Manjooran, grabbed a young lady who was returning home after work at a commercial establishment at around 7 pm on Thursday. The incident occurred on the St Teresa’s Convent road in Kochi.

    Kochi: Kerala High Court has rejected the demand of a pregnant B Ed student to allow her to appear for the examinations in spite of a shortage in mandatory attendance.
    “Pregnancy was an optional choice and that cannot be a reason to permit a student to deviate from the requirements of a regular course of study,” the court said.
