Bhubaneswar: A tribal man in India’s poorest region Kalahandi in Odisha was forced to walk 10 km carrying the body of his wife on his shoulders along with his 12-year-old daughter just because he had no money for transportation. This is in spite of his repeated appeals he made to the hospital authorities for the free mortuary van service provided by the state government.
