The Beginning of Love of Nature Should be Social Consciousness: CUSAT VC

“People can only do justice to nature and society if they develop a social consciousness”, said Dr. K N Madhusoodanan, Vice Chancellor, Cochin University of Science and Technology. He was inaugurating the C-Sis Nature Brigade, the Center for Science Nature Club at C-Sis auditorium, CUSAT.

“Compared to the Westerners, our love of the environment comes only for some personal gains but the love of the environment IS something that has to come from itself”, he added. Teachers and students from twenty-five selected schools got the opportunity to join the club. The club will coordinate the environmental protection and constructive activities from these schools. The club also aims to spread the benefits of science to the community. Dr. Shaiju.P, C-Sis Director presided over the function and Dr. Abesh Raghuvaran, Club Coordinator, and Sheena Mathew spoke. Renowned environmental activist and winner of Vanamitra Award (2021) Manoj Kumar IB led the discussion on environmental protection programs in schools.
