  • Top Interior Styling Mistakes to be Avoided

By NE Reporter on August 22, 2020

All of us dream of a well-styled home that is devoid of decorating blunders. Before we start figuring out what to do, it would help us know what pitfalls to be avoided. Interior designing is not just about laying beautiful objects in a row. It requires a thoughtful, personal style that can help to bring your space to life. So we’re putting together some of our tips. It can help you find some inspiration, especially for those who try to avoid making mistakes.

    1. TV unit design
TV unit designs are often too big or too small for the spaces they are in. It is essential to get the scale right to choose the right piece. Further, more TV unit designs that are too high must be avoided as it looks silly.

    2. King size bed
There is a fine line of difference between a well-styled space and an over-accessorized space which looks very cluttered. We must always keep it simple and realize less is more. When we have the option of using a small-medium, we should go for it instead of occupying the entire space with a king-size bed.

    3. Greenery
Places, where greenery is added can make you feel alive, healthy, and happy. It also adds styles to any space, whether it is a big one or a small one, especially to sterile places such as bathrooms. But never go for fake greenery as they do not look good in anyone’s home.

    4. Little things
Decorating with a bunch of little items together can make your home cluttered. These small accessories can be lost very quickly and can create visual clutter. Buying a smaller version may seem to save money, but remember, you need to work on other items to fill out space.

    5. Matching
When you try to match your furniture, it looks like you bought your room for the furniture store. So always avoid using all matching frames, furniture sets, etc. You need to mix it up and create more interest and depth for the room.

    6. Space under console
We have a sofa table which divides the living room and kitchen. Most of the time, this is bare and looks very dull. You have to look out for the perfect stool. You can also have a bench in the entryway, which could use a little styling a basket.

    7. Personal touch
We all observe that a model home or the showroom floor does not have a lively look because they do not have a personal touch. Always add in your personal touch with the selection of furniture, carpets, etc. Never forget to breathe life into your space by using these personal touches in your decoration.

Finally, I would like to add one piece of advice that is to be patient in searching out the right pieces. We must always be committed to one style as per space which makes harmonious interiors.
