  • Two Day Credai Kerala State Conference-2017 Begins

By NE Reporter on November 25, 2017

    KOCHI:
The Two Day State level Conference of The Confederation of Real Estate Developer’s Associations of India (CREDAI) started at Hotel Crowne Plaza, Kochi, on Friday.
Inaugurating the Conference, former Union Minister Prof K V Thomas, MP, said that the real estate and construction sectors are facing several challenges. Implementation of Demonetisation and GST without any preparation had left these sectors in deep crisis.
He said that the attitude of Government and Judiciary towards the real estate sector should change. Demolition of buildings in the name of environmental issues would lead to huge financial loss.
“Who will benefit from the demolition of buildings which are constructed with the permission given without any proper verification of documents ? A joint effort is needed for building up a trust in the real estate sector”, K V Thomas said.
Though the Government had announced a policy of Housing for All, no concrete steps were taken to materialise it. The Government should take the initiative for solving the problems in this sector and introducing new technologies, he added.
CREDAI National chairman Geedhambar Anand who was the Guest of Honour said there are attempts from certain quarters to propagate false campaigns against real estate sector. The propaganda of crisis in real estate will result in affecting the economic growth of our country.
“Demonestisation and GST had not only effected the real estate industry but also the production sector also. Though everyone is expecting relaxation in GST, it will not happen in the near future”, Anand said.
Housing schemes under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana with the help of digital marketing should be utilised, he added. Dr. Najeeb Zackeria, Chairman, CREDAI Kerala;  M. V. Antony, Conference Chairman and CREDAI secretary Krishnakumar participated.
Over 250 professional Developers from Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, Thrissur, Palakkad and Kozhikode Chapters are participating in this conference.  The objective of this year’s Conference is to establish
Kerala as an emerging hub of Real Estate in India in the coming years. The theme for the conference is “Revive – Reinvent – Refocus”.
During the Conference, transformation of the Construction Industry in the past couple of decades, present trends and the way forward will be discussed. Technical sessions and panel discussions will be held on
various topics including Technology in Construction, Marketing, Funding and Branding.
