  • Vedhik IAS Academy Launches Vedhik Erudite Scholarship in Malabar

By NE Reporter on January 2, 2021

    KOZHIKODE:
Kerala Transport Minister A K Saseendran today launched the Vedhik Erudite Scholarship Programme which provides free coaching to brilliant civil services aspirants who are economically backward.

The scholarship is implemented by Vedhik IAS Academy with assistance from sponsors under its ‘One School One IAS Programme.’ A panel headed by the head of respective educational institutions select the beneficiary students. The plan is to give scholarship to 10,000 students from schools (from class VIII onwards) and colleges in Kerala.

The sponsors will have to pay Rs 29,999 plus tax which is the one-time fee for each student to pursue the online coaching till she/he attains the age of 32.

On the occasion, Shri Saseendran said: “Society must realise that studies for civil services are not for the elite class alone. We need to mould efficient IAS officers with social commitment.”

Lauding the Vedhik Academy’s sustained efforts towards realising the service-driven motto, he called upon school students not to contain learning to just the curriculum. “The aim should be to acquire knowledge and not just earn a job,” he added.

Vedhik IAS Academy Marketing Vice President Simon Tharakan, in his introductory speech, said the Erudite Scholarship Programme seeks to allay the misunderstandings Malayalis have about IAS coaching as for just the financially well-off.

Sumaya N V, a class-9 student of Parambil Government High School here, was selected for the Academy’s Erudite Scholarship Programme. She was handed over the scholarship cheque by Vijaya Marketing Pvt Ltd Managing Partner Jayanthi Ramesh.

District Panchayat member E Saseendran presided over the function. Calicut Off Campus Centre Director Shameera Buhari, Vijaya Marketing Partner Vidya, Block Panchayat member N Jayaprakasan, Kuruvattur Grama Panchayat former president P Appukuttan, Grama Panchayat member Somanathan and Parambil Government High School PTA President Manoj Kumar were present.

School headmistress Deepa MR welcomed the gathering. Vedhik IAS Academy Business Development Executive M P Noushad proposed thanks.
