KOCHI:
A half-day panel discussion on “Reach for Gold: Sports and IP” was organized by Inter University Centre for Intellectual Property Rights Studies (IUCIPRS), CUSAT in connection with the celebration of World IP Day at Conference Hall, IUCIPRS.
The celebrations also included a talk by T C Mathew, Former Vice-President, BCCI who elaborated on the challenges faced by BCCI in telecasting and broadcasting of IPL matches, a panel discussion where N P Pradeep, Indian footballer and Anu Raghavan, Indian sprinter shared their experiences in their respective fields. It was followed by a talk by Adv. Subhash Bhutoria, Partner, Krida Legal Law Firm, Delhi on enforcement of IP rights in Sports and Gaming business. He explained various statutory remedies and judicial response towards sports law. Dr. M Bhasi, Director, IUCIPRS and Anjana Girish, Assistant Professor, IUCIPRS spoke.
