Godrej locks, the country’s leading provider of locking solutions for homes, offices and industries, supports the fight against COVID 19 and championing initiatives to eradicate this pandemic.
As part of this, the company worked with Mumbai’s Genesis Hotel to repair locking solutions inside the hotel premises. Given the urgent need for more isolation centres due to a rise in coronavirus positive cases, Godrej Locks is looking to partner with authorities where it can contribute to the isolation centre’s infrastructure through it expertise.
Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has undertaken various properties under Epidemic Disaster Act 1897 for containment and prevention of COVID-19 pandemic. The Municipal Corporation acquired Genesis Hotel in Mumbai’s Vile Parle area where COVID-19 care center is established. When directed to be converted to an isolation centre, hotel team realised that some room locks could not be opened.

With the expertise and technology offered by Godrej Locks, the municipal corporation reached out to the locks major for immediate assistance. Acknowledging the need of the hour, Godrej Locks quickly assigned a team of safety experts, to help the municipal corporation.
Within minutes of the SOS call, safety experts from Godrej locks arrived at the hotel and fixed all locks while being dressed in full protective gear. The team spent over 2 days and ensured all locking solutions were functioning properly. Genesis Hotel has now been functioning as an isolation centre.

Among other initiatives, Godrej Locks has introduced Safety Assist Program, a unique solution for providing a fast and safe response through voice assistance to any lock-related problems faced by people. The brand has also started a campaign ‘Agent of Safety’ to celebrate ‘COVID-19 warriors from across India and will share their inspirational stories through digital media platforms.
