  • Dhadak Box Office Day 3: Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter Film Earns Rs 33.6 cr

By NE Reporter on July 23, 2018

    MUMBAI:
Dhadak box office collection after first weekend is Rs 33.67 crore. Can it maintain the momentum on Monday?
Dhadak came with its own set of expectations. The launch of Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter, thanks to their pedigree, had people watching the Shashank Khaitan film closely. Now that Dhadak box office collection for the first weekend is in, the newcomers can rest easy – Dhadak is on its way to become a profit-making venture.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “And the BO numbers do the talking… #Dhadak packs an IMPRESSIVE TOTAL in its opening weekend… A consistent run on weekdays will help put up a STRONG Week 1 total… Fri 8.71 cr, Sat 11.04 cr, Sun 13.92 cr. Total: ₹ 33.67 cr. India biz.”
For a film starring newcomers, the numbers are something of a record — it has done much better than Student of the Year that launched Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff’s launch vehicle Heropanti. Dhadak began slow but then saw appreciable jumps on Saturday and Sunday. After earning Rs 8.71 crore on Friday, the film earned Rs 11.04 crore on Saturday and its Sunday collection is Rs 13.92 crore.
Adarsh tweeted on Sunday, “#Dhadak witnesses SIGNIFICANT GROWTH on Day 2… Growth on Sat [vis-à-vis Fri]: 26.75%… Sun biz expected to be higher than Sat… Eyes ₹ 30 cr+ weekend, which is EXCELLENT for a film starring newcomers… Fri 8.71 cr, Sat 11.04 cr. Total: ₹ 19.75 cr. India biz.”
    He also shared the film’s international earning too. “Dhadak springs a pleasant surprise Overseas… Films starring newcomers, generally, find limited takers… But #Dhadak is an exception… Total: approx $ 858k [₹ 5.90 cr]… North America: $ 265k UAE-GCC: $ 322k UK-Ireland: $ 96k ANZ: $ 100k Pakistan: $ 47k.”
Dhadak managed to break Student of The Year record with its first day collection. Producer Karan Johar, who had also directed SOTY, tweeted, “Glad to have our own record broken previously held by SOTY!! Thank you to all the beating hearts for giving this beating heart so much love!!! @ShashankKhaitan #Janhvi #ishaan #dhadak.”
