India’s first Comprehensive scleroderma clinic, an innovative idea by centre for rheumatic excellence (Doctor Shenoys care, Nettoor) and family get together of scleroderma patinets inaugurated by Prof. KV Thomas MP, here at Kochi IMA house. Modern medicine is most effective and credible for the treatment of scleroderma, MP says in his speech. It is better than the traditional treatment methods as it has strong scientific base. Rare diseases like scleroderma should be benefitted from the effectiveness of modern medicine. And the patients along with his family members should be equipped to beat the disease, ha added.

Dr. Soumya Jagadeesan, Assistant professor, Amrita Institute of medical sciences spoke about scleroderma and protection of skin. Initial symptoms of scleroderma appears above the skin as thickening of the same and gradually pass on to other internal organs. The disease is found mostly in women. Early detection and effective treatment can beat the disease, she added.

tion of lungs being affected by scleroderma. As a result of thickening of lungs and contraction of lungs cough, chest pain are seen as the symptoms. And this lead to a condition named pulmonory artery hypertension, he desscribed.
