SANKALP Awareness Workshop on Apprenticeship – Internship Programs Held

The Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence, National Skill Development Corporation and FICCI under the auspices of the State Government jointly organized a concept awareness workshop on Apprenticeship – Internship programs.

Imbasekar K, Managing Director, Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence, said in his introductory address that over thirty-four lakhs job seekers have been registered through various employment exchanges in Kerala. Through the Sankalp scheme, these job seekers will be able to get better training through Apprenticeship-Internship in selected commercial establishments in the State.

Many European countries a ‘dual education system’ exists. In the educational learning system, there is equal importance on technical training and practical trainings. At present, there are 24,00,461 people who are undergoing training as apprentices at various institutes across the country. But in Kerala the number is only 2340. It is hoped that the implementation of the Sankalp scheme effectively in the State will lead to an increase in the number of apprentices in Kerala.
