ONTARIO:
More than 400 students in India have been asked by Niagra College in Ontario, Canada, to retake the language test as the college has found some inconsistencies. The doubt arose when the language proficiency of the candidates did not match the IELTS test scores submitted by them.

The College has asked 428 Indian students admitted to its January 2019 programmes to undergo a second English test. Students who do not comply with this condition will lose their offer of admission. Students are given two test options – IELTS or PTE.

IELTS is one of the English language tests used by the immigration auhtorities in Canada as proof of an immigration or citizenship applicant’s language proficiency. The College took this crucial decision after its faculty found some inconsistencies with the IELTS scores of the first-year international students and their real language skills.
