KOCHI:
A workshop on ‘Soft Skill Development’ for SC/ST students of Higher Secondary will be organized by Youth Welfare Department and Equal Opportunity Cell of Cusat in collaboration with Kochi Municipal Corporation during 10-14 November at Seminar Complex, Cusat.
Ernakulam district collector Y. Safirulla will inaugurate the programme and Cusat Pro- Vice Chancellor Dr. P. G. Shankaran will preside. Around 533 students from 10 Higher Secondary schools and 3 Vocational Higher Secondary schools within Kochi Corporation will participate in the workshop.
Various programmes on inter personal skills, team building, communication training, drama training etc will be conducted by the experts, School of Drama, Delhi. Classes on different topics like Self Entrepreneur opportunities, legal security, higher education opportunities, Cyber crime, scholarship, career guidance and 3D printing will be held. ‘Marana Match’, drama by Little theatre, Calicut will also be presented during the workshop. The camp members will get an opportunity to conduct discussion with the lectures and sharing of cultural activities with students of Cochin University. Science students can visit C-SiS lab of Cusat. The
workshop mainly aims to make the students capable to face the challenges, understand the opportunities of higher education and employment etc.
