KOCHI:
Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan launched the proposed fully-owned and managed office campus of IBS Software at Infopark, Cochin, today.

The first phase of the construction is expected to be completed by April 2019.
Also present on the launch function held at the 5 acre SEZ facility were M Sivasankar, IT Secretary- Government of Kerala, Hrishikesh Nair, CEO- Infopark, and heads of various companies in Technopark and Infopark. IBS also operates from over 3 lakh sq ft of leased work space in Technopark (Trivandrum), Infopark (Cochin) and Prestige Shantiniketan (Bangalore) apart from its overseas offices in USA, Europe,
Middle East, Australia and Japan. IBS currently has over 3,000 employees from 20 different nationalities.
Set up in 1997 in Trivandrum, IBS is undoubtedly one of the most inspirational success story coming out of India. Over a period of 20 years, it has earned a global reputation for excellence in a domain very few Indian companies have dared to venture. Unlike the large Indian IT companies that operate in the services sector,
IBS is a software product company. It provides technology solutions, developed after years of R & D, for the mission critical operations of airlines, airports, oil & gas companies, hotel groups, travel companies and cruise lines. These software solutions cannot fail even for a second given the criticality of the operations it
handle. This high-risk, technology intensive domain is dominated by large corporations based out of developed countries in Europe and America. It is against such companies that IBS competes, and competes
successfully. Currently, IBS has over 200 customers all over the world including some of the world’s largest airlines (Lufthansa, Qantas, British Airways, Emirates, China Southern, All Nippon Airways), busiest airports (London’s Heathrow, Gatwick and Japan’s Haneda), top oil& gas companies (Shell, Chevron, British Petroleum, Conoco Phillips) and hotel groups (Starwood, Marriot, Hyatt). Within 10 years, IBS is poised to be the number one software provider in the world to the air transportation industry
In 2015, the world’s biggest private equity investor, Blackstone, invested Rs 1,400 cr in IBS for a minority shareholding. This is the largest investment by a private equity player in any company in Kerala and the largest investment in a software product company in India.
“IBS is a great example of what perseverance, integrity and team work can do. From modest beginnings, we have scaled great heights to be a major player in IP led business on the global arena. We are now on the threshold of a new and exciting growth phase and our desire to have our second fully owned office campus
is a testament to this. Choosing Cochin for our expansion plans is an acknowledgement not only of the facilitating infrastructure in the IT parks of the state, but also of the unstinted support we have received from successive Governments in Kerala. This is indeed a proud moment for all of us at IBS” said VK
Mathews, Founder & Executive Chairman of the IBS Group.
