“I prefer BHIM app as I like using technologically advance payment products. It’s a simple app which makes money transfers very easy, especially when I am splitting food bills among friends after our dine outs. Besides, I use BHIM app to load my Paytm wallet and while making purchases online,” said Nair.
BHIM app is available in 13 languages. Additionally, scanning BharatQR code with BHIM/UPI app is now possible. As on October 31, 2017, 59 banks are live on BHIM platform. It is gaining popularity among millions of people due to the convenience offered to users.
BHIM/UPI works 24X7 and 365 days in a year through which money can get transferred directly to the user’s bank account without visiting any bank branch. One needs to remember two things while using BHIM/UPI. Firstly, to link the mobile number to bank account and secondly, while transacting the SIM card of the mobile number linked to the bank account should be used in the mobile handset. There has been over 20 million downloads of BHIM Appso far.
BHIM can also be referred to friends and family members. The advantage is that the referrer as well as the referee receives reward in the form of incentive after completion of certain number of transactions.
How does the scheme work?
The referrer needs to encourage the referee to download the BHIM App and enter the referrer’s mobile number as the referral code. For both referrer and referee to get their reward, the referee has to make minimum three transactions totaling to a minimum value of Rs. 50. On successful completion of the process, the referrer would get Rs. 25 and the referee who does the payment would also get Rs. 25.
