OISCA Global Youth Forum Inaugurated

Developments which destroys environmental imbalance should be avoided, said filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
He was inaugurating the OISCA Global Youth Forum ‘Envirotech 2018’ being organised by OISCA International a Tokyo based NGO and having consultative Status with UN in association with Xavier Institute of Management & Entrepreneurship (XIME), Kochi at XIME Institute , Kalamassery. The forum will focus on topics like “Furusato”-Technologies for Environmental sustainability,
Adoor Gopalakrishnan pointed out that already there are three airports in Kerala and one more will be inaugurated soon. There are also plans to establish a fifth one destroying the forest and natural beauty.
When Kerala is known as God’s own country, the people here are busy with destroying the nature. Kerala is facing severe drinking water scarcity when there are 47 rivers flowing through the State, he said.
Quarries and sand mining are destroying the beauty of Kerala. Now paddy cultivation is dwindling due to huge loss. He called upon the youth to come forward against those who are destroying our natural beauty.
Public Education director and OISCA South India chapter president K V Mohankumar presided over the function. OISCA International assistant secretary general M Aravind Babu, Cusat vice-chancellor Dr J Letha, XIME Kochi chairman Dr J Alexander, OISCA Japan president Etsuko Nakano, OISCA secretary general Yusuaki Nagaishi, Environmentalist Suresh Heblikar, Oushadhi chairman Dr K R Vishwambaran, XIME director board member V O Sebastian, Dr Manoj Varghese and K P Aboobakker participated. OISCA Youth Icon award was distributed to Alappuzha district collector T V Anupama, Olympian P R Sreejesh, Gayathri Subramanian and Arya Gopi. Youth Forum meeting will conclude on Saturday.
