Samsung, the global leaders in Memory technology, today introduced the Samsung 970 EVO Plus, the newest enhancement in its Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) SSD portfolio.
The latest 970 EVO Plus sets a new bar for high-performance storage with industry- leading performance and up to two terabytes in capacity, enabling IT professionals, tech enthusiasts and gamers to handle intensive workloads on PCs and workstations with more ease. Since introduction of the first NVMe SSDs to the consumer market in 2015, Samsung has continued to challenge technical barriers in SSD design and performance.
The new 970 EVO Plus powered by Samsung’s latest fifth-generation V-NAND technology will now offer unrivaled performance in its class when taking on demanding tasks like 4K content editing, 3D modeling and simulation as well as heavy gaming.
“With our commitment to bring the best, Samsung has raised the bar higher with its latest 970 EVO Plus Solid State Drives for power users, up for demanding tasks like 4K content editing, 3D modeling and simulation as well as heavy gaming. This upgraded version promises faster performance, exceptional endurance, unparalleled reliability as well as increased power efficiency,” said Sukesh Jain, Senior Vice President, IT & Mobile Enterprise Business, Samsung India.
By integrating the company’s most advanced V-NAND chips with optimized firmware, the 970 EVO Plus achieves significant performance improvements as well as increased power efficiency over its predecessor, the 970 EVO. Users can also easily upgrade their devices as the 970 EVO Plus comes in a compact M.2 form factor using the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface found in most modern computers. The 970 EVO Plus also offers a five-year limited warranty 1 or up to 1,200 terabytes written 2 .
Level up Performance
The 970 EVO Plus delivers sequential read and write speeds of up to 3,500 megabytes per second (MB/s) and up to 3,300 MB/s, respectively, up to 53% faster 3 than the 970 EVO while random speeds come in at up to 620,000 IOPS for read and up to 560,000 IOPS for write operations 4 . The latest V-NAND – which brings greater NAND performance and higher power efficiency – along with optimized firmware, a proven Phoenix controller, and Intelligent TurboWrite boost speeds.
Samsung’s innovative technology empowers users with the capacity to do more and accomplish more. The next advancement in NVMe SSD, the 970 EVO Plus, fits up to 2TB onto the compact M.2 (2280) form factor, greatly expanding storage capacity and saving space for other components.
1 Five years or TBW, whichever comes first. For more information on the warranty, please find the enclosed warranty document in the package.
2 Warrantied TBW (Total bytes written) for 970 EVO Plus: 150TB for 250GB model, 300TB for 500GB model, 600TB for 1TB model, 1,200TB for 2TB.
3 Up to 53 percent performance increase for sequential write speed for 250GB version
4 Performances may vary depending on SSD’s firmware version and system hardware &; configuration. Performance measurements based on IOmeter 1.1.0. The write performances were measured with Intelligent TurboWrite technology being activated. The sequential write performances after Intelligent TurboWrite region are: 400 MB/s(250GB), 900 MB/s(500GB), 1,700 MB/s(1TB) and 1,750 MB/s(2TB).
*Test system configuration: Intel Core i7-7700K CPU @4.2GHz, DDR4 2400MHz 32GB, OS-Windows 10 Built 10240, Chipset–ASUS PRIME Z270-A.
Powered by the latest V-NAND technology the 970 EVO Plus provides exceptional endurance and sets new standard in sustainable performance delivering up to 1,200 TBW 5 with a 5-year 6 limited warranty 7 for lasting performance.
Samsung’s advanced nickel-coated controller and heat spreader on the 970 EVO Plus enable superior heat dissipation. The Dynamic Thermal Guard automatically monitors and maintains optimal operating temperatures to minimize performance drops setting a new level of drive confidence for the users.
The Samsung Magician software simplifies advanced drive management for the users by helping them keep an eye on the drive. A suite of user-friendly tools helps keep your drive up to date, monitor drive health and speed, and even boost performance.
The 970 EVO Plus in 250GB, 500GB and 1TB capacity will be available in February at INR 6,479, INR 9359, INR 17,999, respectively. 2TB variant will be available in April at INR 35,999.
