Kozhikode: Kozhikode Medical College Police have registered case against two senior Malayali nursing students who allegedly tortured a junior Malayali student as part of ragging at Al Qamar Nursing College in Karnataka. A team led by a woman DySP will investigate the case. The FIR has been forwarded to the Gulbarga Police for more action.
The accused are natives of Kollam and Idukki districts in Kerala.
It is alleged that the victim was asked to dance naked and she was forced to drink toilet cleaner when she resisted their attempts. The incident is reported to have been recorded on mobile phone camera.
The victim, member of a poor Dalit family, hails from Edappal in Malappuram. The victim’s mother is a daily wage labourer, who took a loan for the daughter’s education.
The Gulbarga SP has already visited the nursing college as part of police investigation.
