  • Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation Launches Bike Ambulance Project in Kerala

By NE Reporter on December 19, 2016

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation (SSSSO) today launched a motorcycle ambulance project in Kerala, which stands third in the country in terms of road accidents with nearly 4,000 deaths and 40,000 injuries annually.
Launching tsai-on-wheels-launch-by-shri-nimish-pandhya-all-india-president-sri-sathya-sai-seva-organisationhe “Sai-aid-on-wheels” project, SSSSO all-India President Nimesh Pandya said here today that the project would be extended throughout the country near all highways to provide swift care in emergencies.
To begin with, there would be 50 motorcycles operating near highways across the state. The vehicles would be operated by the trained young volunteers of the SSSSO and they would provide free and timely first aid to the victims of road accidents.
Pandya said the concept of bike ambulance has made a huge i
    mpact in foreign countries.
Prof E Mukundan , State President of the SSSSO, said the bike ambulance would reach the accident site within 10 minutes and provide basic first aid to the victim till the four wheeler ambulance arrived.
“In the first phase when 50 vehicles are available, we will cover the distance from Thiruvananthapuram to Alappuzha,” he said, adding that this service would be available throughout the state in the next two months.
Pandya said 900 rural schools in the country would be adopted under the Sathya Sai Vidya Jyothi programme. As many as 672 schools had already been adopted and the remaining would be completed in the next two months.
He said 100 villages would be adopted across the country in the next five years under the Sathy Sai village integrated programme. The people of these villages would be provided all facilities like health, water supply, old age care, education, sanitation, disaster management etc.
Pandya said the demonetisation did not affect the activities of SSSSO as all workers were used to sacrificing and doing seva.
Mukundan said 15 children had been adopted in Moozhinada village in Aruvikkara Panchayat in Trivandrum district. “We will take care of their complete education and provide regular food packets to their family members.”
