NEW DELHI:
‘Ishti’, a film focussing on stigmas of Indian society; and ‘SahajPaatherGappo’ (Colours of Innocence), a film that reflects the struggles of a situationally challenged family, will compete in the International Competition section of the 47 th International Film Festival of India. The names of these two Indian films were announced
The 13 other films were announced at a press conference on November 1 st , 2016 in New Delhi. The International Competition section has 15 films from across the globe, including these 2 films from the Indian Panorama section.
‘Ishti’ is a Sanskrit film, set in the mid-twentieth century Kerala, where young Namboothiri Brahmins successfully challenge the orthodox, patriarchal traditions of their community.‘Ishti’, a Sanskrit word, means the search for oneself, yaga, etc.
‘SahajPaatherGappo’ (Colours of Innocence) is a film directed by
ManasMukul Pal, which reflects the struggles of a family going through tough times, the early maturity of kids and the sacrifice of their wills, by focussing on a story of two brothers.
These films will be judged by anesteemed jury and awards will be presented to the Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor-Male, Best Actor-Female and a Special Jury Award.
