Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Govt has given instructions to make vaccination compulsory for all children seeking school admission.

This is in the wake of certain sections of citizens in the state deliberately keep away from vaccinating their children, thereby sabotaging the health plans of the state government.

Certain organisations have leashed campaigns against preventive vaccines, prompting gullible parents to deny vaccination to their children. This campaign is  strong in certain districts of north Kerala. Such activists are raising absurd allegations against vaccines.

The government has instructed schools to collect vaccination details of students. Children will be categorized into those who have taken proper vaccination, those who have never received any vaccination and those who have not completed the course of vaccination.

Schools have been asked to submit the details to the local self-government institutions.
