Seminar conducted by CBPST-CIPET and Coir Board proved the 30% savings in usage of plastic as a mix of plastic and coir fibre into 70:30 ratio.o
The seminar was attended by all coir and plastic manufacturers & Industrialists. This was initiative of C.P. Radhakrishnan,
Ex.M.P & Chairman, Coir Board to create more diversified application for coir fibre and well to reduce the carbon foot prints. This will helps to “Save Nature” and to manufacture bio plastics on the basis of the technology developed on the research experiments conducted by Coir Board in collaboration with Coir Board & CIPET, CBPST.
The technology proved for the manufacture of injection moulded chairs, pots, cups industrial funnels and so on. Coconut is gift of Gods Own country to drive out the devil applications which is cause for Global Warming. Coir Wood, Cocopeat, Green Coir Polymer, Coir Geotextitles(Bhoovastra) handmade floor furnishings are the main zone of coir applications.
The seminar was presided over by M.Kumara Raja Secretary, Coir Board and opening remarks made by Dr. Das Anita Ravindranath, Director, CCRI. Dr. T.O Vaghese, Director CIPET was the chief guest. C.R. Dvaraj, Charangat Coir, P.J. Mathew representatives from All Kerala Plastic Manufacturers
Association and . Syed Amanulla, CIPET made felicitations.
