KOCHI: Dr. Tessy Thomas, renowned as India’s ‘Missile Woman,’ is set to receive the prestigious Stre Ratna award, established by the ESAF Foundation. This esteemed award is the recognition of Dr.Thomas’s remarkable contributions to both science and society, acknowledging her resilient spirit in overcoming challenges and leaving a profound impact on others’ lives.
Formerly a scientist with the Defence Research and Development Organization, Dr. Tessy Thomas currently serves as the Vice-Chancellor of Nurul Islam University in Kanyakumari. She stands as an emblem of inspiration, especially for women nationwide.
The Stre Ratna Award, bestowed annually on ESAF Foundation’s foundation day, celebrates individuals who have triumphed over adversity, leaving an enduring imprint on society through their perseverance and accomplishments.
