ICSET 2023 International Conclave; Potential and Future of Artificial Intelligence

ICT Academy of Kerala, in association with Infopark organized ICSET (International Conclave on Skills, Engineering and Technology) discussing the advancements and future prospects in artificial intelligence. Held at the Angamaly Adlux Convention Centre, the programme was inaugurated by Minister of Higher Education and Social Justice R Bindu.

Minister R Bindu said that Kerala is being transformed into a knowledgeable society and as a part of this, revolutionary studies, sessions, and conclaves are being held in the academic field. She also added that programmes such as ICSET are a great asset for the students and the IT sector as it discusses the new advancements and possibilities that AI is showcasing as the latest tool in the field of technology.

The programme aims to improve the collaboration between the industry and academia and to introduce new industry trends, job opportunities, and changes that AI may create in the fields of governance, health, agriculture, industry, education, and media, as well as create awareness among students and teachers about the legal-ethical problems it may create. Eminent people from national-international levels spoke on various topics.

Saji Gopinath, Vice Chancellor of Digital University Kerala, presided over the event. Susanth Kurunthil, Infopark CEO and Ajay Mathur, GM of Acabes International Pvt. Ltd. spoke at the event. Sreekanth K.A. from EY Global Delivery Services delivered an introductory lecture on the topic, ‘AI Gyration: Embrace the Power of Intelligent Automation’. ICT Academy CEO Santhosh Kurup gave the welcome address for the inaugural session and ICT Academy Academic OU Deepa VT delivered the vote of thanks.

Short lectures and panel discussions were held on various topics related to AI and its impact. Anu Kumari IAS (Director, Kerala State IT Mission), Deepa Sarojammal (CEO, Reflections Info Systems), Latha Raj (Programme Director, IBM), Saba Karim (India Head, Public Sector at LinkedIn), Alex James (Academic Dean, Digital University of Kerala), Anoop P. Ambika (CEO, Kerala Startup Mission), Barry Matthews (CEO, Open Assembly), P.V. Unnikrishnan (Member Secretary, K-DISC), and Sajina Sathar (Assistant Director LSGD, GoK) were also a part of the discussions.

Workshops led by the artificial intelligence teams of Google and IBM became the main attraction of ICSET. Presentations introducing the latest research in the field of artificial intelligence, outstanding projects from K-DISC’s Young Innovators programme, and TecathlonFinal Presentations were also held as part of the conclave.
