KIED’s First EDC to Open at Angamaly on Tuesday

The state’s first-ever Enterprise Development Centre (EDC) under the government-run Kerala Institute for Entrepreneurship Development (KIED) is set to open on Tuesday (March 21), with Industries Minister P. Rajeeve inaugurating the facility at Inkel Tower, Angamaly, at 10 am.

The EDC has been conceived to provide services for Human Resources Development (HRD) in the field of entrepreneurship development, with the aim of encouraging and nurturing the spirit of entrepreneurship among the people of Kerala. With its focus on building unique and innovative next-generation MSMEs and small businesses, the centre will provide support to conventional businesses seeking technology adoption, high-value opportunities and the application of knowledge systems in select sectors. The unique initiative takes up each business separately and provides them tailored support.

The ceremony will be followed by a roundtable conference on Regional-Level Ecosystem Development, Industry/Academia Collaboration and Skilling’. The occasion will facilitate a personalized interaction with government officials, subject-matter experts, academic/research institutions and entrepreneurs.

Further, there will be a display of technology/products by universities and research institutions. Also to feature is a session on sharing success stories.

Kerala Institute for Entrepreneurship Development (KIED) is an autonomous State level institute promoted by the Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Kerala. The main objective of the Institute is to provide services in Human Resources Development (HRD) particularly in the field of entrepreneurship development with a view to enlarge the spirit of entrepreneurship among the people which will lead to more self-employment.
