KOCHI:
The National Green Certificate was presented to Thiruvaniyoor Global Public School by Padma Shri Sunita Narain, environmentalist and Director General, Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi. Green school coordinator of GPS Kusum Richard received the certificate at the Green Schools Carnival held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi.
The Global Public School was awarded the CSE Green Certificate in recognition of its environmental friendliness – conservation services and resource management. This is the second time in a row that Global Public School has gained this achievement.
The CSE analyzed the actions and approaches adopted by the school in six areas including water, energy, food, waste and land. Students of 6th, 7th and 8th classes participated in environmental friendly and conservation activities. Coordinator Kusum Richard led the eco-friendly activities under the supervision of Vice Principal Susanna Sunil.
