Oberon Spirit of Women 2018 Awards Distributed

Women should be economically productive for the country’s economic growth, said Dr. M. Beena, Managing Director, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), on inaugurating ‘Oberon Spirit of Women Awards 2018’, organized by Oberon Mall to honour 10 women who proved to be excellent social beings as part of the tenth anniversary celebrations of the mall.
Ayisha Beevi (transport), Elsy Sabu (love & care), Gayathry Somasekhar (education), Jilly P Jio (teaching), Harsha Thacheri (women empowerment), Hemalatha Menon (Professional skill development), Jeeja P Sadhasivan (medical care), Naseera Ajesh (Police), Prabha Mani (kudumbasree) and Sofia M Jo (sports) were honoured with cash award of Rs. 5000, memento and certificate.
Women who are carrying out useful and socially responsible activities in various sectors were selected for the award. Most of them have never been recognized or given any rewards. A special team set by the mall shortlisted 100 such women after a research work of three months. The winners was selected by a jury including the Oberon management representatives, Dr. George Sleeba, former CMD, FACT and executive director, K Chittilappilly Foundation, and Dr. B. Prasanna Singh, Director, Kuttukkaran Institute for human resource development. M.A Sufair, Managing Director, Oberon mall, and Joji John, Centre Manager, were there at the occasion.
