Regional Review Workshop on Issues Related to Horticulture at Kochi

Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare in association with Coconut Development Board (CDB) is organizing two days Regional Workshop on Horticulture Sector scheduled during 2023 November 2 nd and 3 rd at Marriott Hotel, Nedumbassery, Kochi.

Priya Ranjan Das IFoS, Joint Secretary, Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare will inaugurate the Workshop in the presence of Dr. Prabhat Kumar, CEO, CDB, Dr. S. K. Singh, Director, Indian Institute of Horticulture Research and Dr. K. B. Hebbar, Director, CPCRI. The workshop aims to foster discussions on critical horticultural issues among Southern States/UTs, ICAR Institutes, Centers of Excellence, and Horticulture Clusters established in the Southern region, as well as Central agencies.

Representatives from various stakeholders in Horticulture, primarily from southern India, will converge at this workshop, including Senior Officers from the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India, ICAR Institutes in South India, and officials from the Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH). Around 100 delegates are expected to make this event a vital platform for dialogue, encouraging the evolution of pertinent policy decisions in the horticulture sector within the southern region of the country.

During the workshop, the attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and presentations by senior officers of the concerned Central agencies, ICAR Institutes, and State Horticulture Missions. Topics of discussion will span a wide range of horticultural issues, emphasizing collaborative solutions and knowledge sharing. The event aims to facilitate productive conversations and encourage the exchange of innovative ideas, ultimately contributing to the advancement of the horticulture sector in the Southern region of India.
