World renowned petroleum safety expert Dr. Faisal I. Khan said that “safety is a life value rather th
an compliance of a set of written regulations”. He was delivering the key note address during the inauguration of International Seminar on Safety and Engineering (SAFE’17) organized by Safety and Fire Engineering division of School of Engineerinmail 2-1g, Cusat at seminar complex.
While inaugurating the seminar Dr. Avaneesh Singh, Direct General, Factory Advice Service and Labour Institutes, Govt. of India, stressed the need of making people aware about the possible industrial calamities as the first lesson towards achieving complete safety. Cusat Vice Chancellor Dr. J. Letha presided.
Dr. Chitra Rajagopal (Chief Controller R&D, DRDO, Govt. of India), Pramod P. (Director, Factories and Boilers, Govt. of Kerala), C.K. Soman (Chairman,NSC, Kerala Chapter, Dr. N. Chandramohanakumar (Member, Syndicate), Dr. P. S. Sreejith (Dean) and Dr. M. R. R. Panicker (Principal) spoke. Around 200 delegates from various countries including Canada, America, Australia, Malaysia, Kuwait and Oman participated.
