The 28th Senior & 14th Junior Asian Mountain Bike Championship, a spectacular four-day event held in the misty hills and picturesque surroundings of Ponmudi, Thiruvananthapuram, from October 26 to 29, 2023, concluded with great enthusiasm.
The championship brought together approximately 250 cyclists representing 20 countries, serving as the selection trials for the upcoming Paris Olympics. Muthoot Finance was proud to associate with this event, emphasizing its commitment to supporting sporting talent and fostering a culture of sports excellence in Kerala.
George Jacob Muthoot, Chairman of The Muthoot Group, graced the occasion as the chief guest. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of the winners of the downhill race in the women’s category, who displayed remarkable skill and determination. The winners were awarded with medals and rewards by George Jacob Muthoot. Indonesia secured the Gold, Uzbekistan took the Silver, and Chinese Taipei earned the Bronze in this thrilling competition.
The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Rajiv Kumar Chowdhary, Sports Director, Sudheesh Kumar, Treasurer of Cycling Federation, and President of Kerala Cycling Association, along with staff members of The Muthoot Group, cycling officials from various nations, and sports personalities. The occasion was made even more special as George Jacob Muthoot, Chairman, was honored with a memento presented by the President of the Kerala Cycling Association and the Treasurer of the cycling federation.
