PALAKKAD:
A one-day workshop on “Investment Bazaar for Energy Efficiency” was organized by Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and Energy Management Center (EMC) in collaboration with Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE). Electricity Minister K. Krishnankutty inaugurated the Workshop.
The minister said that the entrepreneurs should seriously think about how to run the industry in a cost-effective manner. Non-conventional energy sources including solar energy should be utilized to the maximum extent. He also said that equipment should be used to ensure energy efficiency in the industrial sector. No other place has sources of power generation like our country.
A. Prabhakaran MLA presided. Palakkad District Industry Center General Manager S. Saji delivered the keynote speech. P. M. Ravindran, Member of FICCI State Council and Managing Director of Palakkad Surgical Industries, delivered the introductory speech. Nupur Ahuja, Bureau of energy Efficiency, EMC Kerala Director Dr.R. Harikumar, Palakkad Chamber of Commerce Jt. Secretary R. Ratna Prabhu, Kanchikode Industries Forum Vice President R. Kiran Kumar, EMC Registrar B V Subhash Babu and FICCI Director MN Girish spoke.
Discussions with financial institutions on financing options for industrial energy efficiency products and exposure to latest technologies were also held. Best practices and advancements in the field of energy efficiency were discussed.
