KOCHI:
At the 54th International Film Festival of India [IFFI], Kadak Singh emerged as a cinematic gem, garnering acclaim for its gripping narrative and an exceptional ensemble cast. Pankaj Tripathi’s portrayal of AK Shrivastav, navigating retrograde amnesia and unraveling a mysterious financial crime, intrigued the audience, weaving a tale of suspense within the backdrop of a dysfunctional family.

Director Tony Da’s meticulous attention to often overlooked relationships added a distinctive layer to the narrative, elevating Kadak Singh beyond conventional storytelling. The premiere at IFFI Goa showcased the unique on-screen partnership between Pankaj Tripathi and Parvathy Thiruvothu, where their unlabeled connection of a nurse and patient became a standout element of the film, resonating with viewers.

Reflecting on her role, Parvathy Thiruvothu shared, “The journey with this role was truly fascinating, particularly because the character didn’t pop out in the screenplay for me initially. I had my reservations, but Tony Da assured me that the character wasn’t confined to the pages, rather, it was something we would build together.”

Her trust in the collaborative process, alongside the directorial brilliance of Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and the writing finesse of Ritesh Shah, resulted in a performance that Parvathy considers the most fulfilling of her entire career. And this coming from a national award winner means something special.
