KOCHI:
Federal Bank installed e-Hundi facility at Sree Poornathrayeesa Temple, Thripunithura. Through this, devotees who visit the temple can make their donations by scanning a QR code affixed on the Hundi. This facility not only facilitates devotees to donate using mobile apps but for temple authorities, it saves the hassle of counting and carrying it to bank branches for deposit.
In a celebratory function held at the temple premises. The e-Hundi was unveiled by Manoj Kumar M, Asst Commissioner, Cochin Devaswom Board, in the presence of Joy Thomas, Vice President & Regional Head, Federal Bank, Vinod B, Bank’s Tripunithura Branch Head, Sudheer Meleppat, Devaswom Manager, other officials and devotees.
Inaugurating the facility, Manoj Kumar M, Asst Commissioner, Cochin Devaswom Board said, “We are delighted that this facility was instituted at the temple on the day of beginning of Vrischikolsavam and express our gratitude towards Federal Bank for implementing it in record time.”
Joy Thomas, VP & Regional Head, Federal Bank said, “As the Society started embracing digital initiatives, places of worship too need to provide such facilities. With introduction of this facility, a devotee now need not carry cash while visiting the temple. The offerings can now be done through a smart phone. The Bank intends to extend this facility to other places of worship in due course.”
